India

It's been a pretty hectic weekend at my house with the arrival of my grandparents from India who will be staying for three months. So I thought I'd finally get around to posting that India series that I promised so long ago. These are just a few photos from my summer holiday there last year with my best friend, Liz and my family. We visited a lot of ancient ruins, old temples, palaces and tombs from South to the North, winding our way right up to the snowy foothills of the Himalayas. The thing that struck me most about being in India (apart from the total culture shock) is the insane colour splashed just about everywhere. Designs running all over palace walls and intricate symbols just bursting with the most brilliant hues. I wouldn't mind one bit if some of those patterns were to be made up into a printed dress or 3 (as long as we're being honest, I mean 5). The country and the people are just beautiful and so very hospitable. I hope to return someday but after I've knocked a few more destinations off my "must travel" list.

I'm sorry for the image overload in this post, I tried my best to be selective about which photos to use. Apart from Liz and I, all the people in these pictures are complete strangers who were lovely enough to let me take their photo.

More soon, stay safe :)

Caterina Gatta

A/W 2012-13

Hi there! Procrastination is reaching it's maximum over here. I have 3 days to pen 2 essays and, well, I'm blogging instead. I'm so happy I've almost completely finished university for the year! Anyhow, here's the Caterina Gatta collection A/W 2012-13 above. How spectacular are those prints?! I'm dying for pretty much every single piece! Below, I've added my favourite look from the S/S 2013 collection, the skirt was too fabulous not to feature!! Also, I'm so hyped for Christmas, it is the best time of year!! :) I will be posting more regularly after my exams.

Happy days!

Nineteen

So this past weekend I celebrated my 19th birthday with a few friends in what I dubbed a 'dessert party.' This meant a 4 course meal exclusively of desserts and with my friends, that sort of thing goes down pretty well. The theme for the evening was 'Vintage Hollywood' so I decorated with some trusty ol' streamers and photos of classic Hollywood film stars from the golden age. The theme gave my friends and I the rare opportunity to be thoroughly glamorous and so I employed the help of my sister to snap some pictures for keepsake. So here's my crew of misfits and vagabonds who scrub up pretty neatly on occasion. Sorry for the image overload, I was spoilt for choice!

Have a good day :) !!
