All Kinds

All Kinds

Hey there, it's been a while since I last posted but I've been keeping busy enjoying my first two weeks of university. Anyhow, I don't have much for you today except that I've been playing around on Polyvore (always a pleasurable pass time) and decided to try my hand at putting together an outfit. It hasn't got all that fancy background stuff which I'll figure out later as I play with it more but here's what I came up with, I hope you like it. Also, I've been working on getting myself a tripod  so fingers crossed I can do more outfit posts soon!!!

Happy weekend!

Signs

So I bore witness to one of the sweetest things on the 29th of February that I thought I'd share with you. I was unaware of it before, but apparently it's a tradition that on the leap day a woman can propose to a man. So there I was, sitting at Central Station in Sydney and just as my train pulls up and about a hundred people hurry out of the open doors, the overhead system perks up with the voice of a city-rail employee. The voice called the name of a man who'd just alighted the train and spoke to him directly, saying he was doing a favor on behalf of a woman named Rebecca (presumably the mans girlfriend.) He then proceeded to announce that Rebecca wished to ask for the mans hand in marriage, and if he accepted, to meet her at a certain platform.

The entire station erupted in a chorus of "NAWWWW!" at the same time, (well all the women at least) and apart from comedy festivals and the likes, I've never seen a group of several hundred strangers simultaneously break into a smile. It was truly refreshing and one of those real feel-good moments. I wish things that simple but perfect happened more often in daily life.

Anyhow, the whole endeavor had me thinking about this short film I watched a few years back that made me smile then and still does now. It's directed by Patrick Hughes and was one of the 2009 Cannes Lions winners.

Have a great weekend :)

Kate Spade NY

I saw this video, "Seven Henrietta Street" over at Taza and Husband blog today and couldn't help but re-post. It's so cute! The film is by Kinga Burza for Kate Spade NY. Also, how fantastic are these stockings from the new Kate Spade NY Fall 2012 collection! I would love to get my hands on a pair. Or five.

Hoping everyone had a fantastic day :)
